Create a port group on the storage device using the DeviceManager, add service links that require multipathing into the port group. DAS device driver 215 (such as a USB, IEEE 1394, or eSATA device driver) and NAS device driver 225 (such as an IEEE 802.11 driver) provide for interaction of the I/O ports with controller 230. Controller 230 thus controls access to the HDD 200 by the DAS port 210 and the NAS port 220 through their respective drivers.

This package contains operating-system-specific sets of optimized drivers and storage management software for HP StorageWorks P2000 G3 Modular Smart Array (P2000) products. These software bundles have been tested and released for the Software Support CD to ensure proper installation and functionality. This software bundle is built using the same technology as the HP ProLiant Support Pack (PSP), which uses HP SUM and HP software Smart Components. Fibre Channel Adapter Kit for the Emulex Storport Driver, Fibre Channel Adapter Kit for the QLogic Storport Driver, and HBAnyware Utility

  • The driver installation with this Smart Component requires a minimum Windows Server 2003 SP1, SP2, or R2, along with the Microsoft Storport update, KB932755.

  • Apply the Microsoft Storport update (KB932755) before installing or upgrading to this version of the miniport driver. For boot installations, Windows Server 2003 SP2 install image is required first, followed by the KB update.

Installation:

This bundle is delivered as a self-extracting executable. If you received it in this form, execute it to extract the bundle into a new folder.

Primary Installation Method

  1. Run the SETUP.EXE program included with the Software Bundle.
  2. Click the 'Install' button to proceed with the installation.
    Note: Even when selected, only software that is appropriate for the system it is being run on will actually be installed. After installation of the appropriate software, the utility will display its results, including indication of software successfully installed, software not needed for the current system configuration, and any installation failures.

Command Prompt Installation

  1. A BPXXXXXX.CMD file is also provided with the Support Pack for use in installing the Support Pack from a command prompt without user interaction. As with the HPSUM.EXE program, all software appropriate for the system it is being run on will be installed.
